The selected person will join as a Research Assistant in the “Sharing Cities” project of the “Barcelona UOC Chair in Digital Economics for a Collaborative Economy”, of the DIMMONS research group at the IN3 of the University, a project that contributes to developing the opportunities and possibilities of impulse of transformation that the digital economy offers in the postcovid context and in the different fields, with the final aim to generate a social impact in Barcelona.

Functions:

With direct dependence on the Principal Investigator of the project, the following tasks will need to be performed:

Responsible for the Sharing Cities Action program and the continuity of the Sharing Cities Task ForceFollow up and actions with the cities in the networkDesign of an agenda with municipal partnersDesign and development of strategic actions related to the field of Tourist Rental Platforms in conjunction with DIMMONS and Barcelona City Council.Monitoring public policy actions in the field of digital platforms and tourism of the different networksMonitoring the European regulatory framework on Tourist Rental Platforms, (Digital Services Act) and other regulatory initiatives that may affect Barcelona (Tourist Rental of Rooms), Committee of the Regions, European Commission and/or European Parliament, Amsterdam, Vienna Sharing Cities ActionDevelopment of actions with members of the ecosystem of the tourism network at European level, members of the Sharing Cities network or DIMMONS partners on this matter (PLUS project)Representing the working group in discussion forums, national or supranational institutions and providing organizational and communicative support to the actions decided within the framework of the Chair, as well as possible actions with regard to city union strategy, European lobbyCoordination of the search and hiring of professionals who can advise on specific key issues (i.e. experts in legal treatment)Coordination and collaboration with the international meeting between cities in Seoul

A contract will be made for 8 months at 50% of the day (full day 38.5 hours/week) with forecast to join, on March, 1st.

The workplace is located at the UOC’s Poblenou headquarters (District 22 @), although as long as the pandemic lasts, it will be full-time teleworking.
