Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Mechanical Rotating Equipment Junior Engineer to be located in Tarragona, Spain, within the Technical Expertise & Support Department
As junior engineer part of Mechanical Rotating Technical Support Team, the selected candidate will receive training and work experience in key maintenance mechanical rotating technology and equipment functions. This will be achieved by participating on design and maintenance activities including, but not limited to, applying preventive and predictive maintenance plans on mechanical rotating equipment, defining corrective actions when required, creating testing protocols, project commissioning, creation of equipment reliability strategies and creation of work procedures. Applicants must be comfortable taking a hands-on approach in an industrial processing environment, providing technical engineering support, reliability and maintainability to Dow Tarragona Plants.
The Mechanical Rotating Junior Engineer will take part of the Technical Expertise & Support Department and will have a direct reporting responsibility to the Technical Support Leader.
Key jobs responsibilities include:
Fully comply with EH&S programs (Environmental, Health and Safety) and advance performance wherever possible.
For equipment that is critical for the process ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, etc. and if necessary provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data.
Provide technical expertise and support in mechanical rotating equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
Ensure major mechanical rotating equipment repairs are documented and made available.
Support the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance coordinator as required in reviewing spare parts list for existing equipment.
Provides maintainability input to project activities.
Provides engineering input to maintenance work packages to ensure standards are followed.
During development of turnaround work provides input on development of work orders particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.
Performs technical reviews of maintenance procedures and check that a hazard assessment is included.
Develop and implement Mechanical Rotating Equipment Reliability Strategies.
Reviews Oil analysis, vibration analysis, etc. to provide appropriate guidance for repair with coaching.

Strong interpersonal, technical, and leadership skills.
Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
Fluent in English and Spanish.
You have recently finished your Master’s studies (Fresh Graduate)
Good technical and interpersonal skill-set, innovative, flexible and open-minded in a lifelong learning environment.
