We are looking for a passionate media expert to lead our media effectiveness measurement program and analytics with our in-house data science, brand marketing, insights and media teams across Europe. They will act as one team to enrich our media ROI and effectiveness insights and enable focus on consumer centric media. This is a very exciting and critical role in our Media Insights & Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) team and it covers all media touchpoints and all brands and countries in Europe from UK to Russia and from Lays, Doritos and Cheetos to Pepsi, Rockstar, Tropicana and many others.
About Media Measurement and the role
Media Insights & Analytics CoE have been established to build our brands, optimize PepsiCos media investment and drive Media thought leadership in the company. Media Insights CoE is a part of the bigger Advanced Analytics CoE that provides in-house solutions for optimization of our marketing and commercial plans.
This is a role of a senior internal consultant and a team leader who will scope out, govern and deliver in-house measurement program to the key senior stakeholders in Marketing, Media Operations CoE and Insights. The person and their team will need to create and adapt Global in-house measurement capability ROI Engine to Europe needs and combine it alongside currently existing external solution. The key deliverable of the team will also be to embed media insights into the business, build compelling recommendations for the marketing teams, and meet their needs for the media and marketing measurement.
The role reports into the Europe Head of Media Insights and Analytics, has 2 direct reports and acts as a key point of contact for research agencies, media agencies, think tanks, media owners and data providers.
The job location is a mix of London and Reading where the Europe headquarters are located. The person would need to be in the Reading office up to 2 days a week.
What are we looking for?
This is a Europe CoE role and CoE roles are very stretching from a leadership and impact perspective, as they have a diverse and very senior set of stakeholders in a complex Category / BU matrix environment. The how of this role is just as important as the what and hence we are targeting a demanding leadership profile.
Scope out, coordinate and lead the team to deliver the in-house marketing effectiveness measurement in Europe (ROI Engine, in-house marketing mix econometric modelling)
Partner with the in-house Global and Europe technical teams (product owner, data science and data engineering). Ensure data science and technical teams deliver a fit for purpose product, optimize ways of working. Continuously input to improve the in-house methodology, tools and solutions.
Influence senior stakeholders to ensure media effectiveness measurement is embedded in the local markets and the required governance procedures in place
Coordinate the external marketing effectiveness measurement program delivered via the 3rd party research agency
Facilitate and enable optimization of the media investment partnering with Europe Media CoE, local and regional Marketing, Insights teams
Identify opportunity areas for future measurement optimization and pilot it in the blind spot countries and media platforms/touchpoints
Track incremental value generated by the measurement program and reflect in best practice to enable global roll out in other sectors beyond Europe
Build talent and manage the team of 2 direct reports with potential team expansion as the in-house capability rolls out
8-10+ years of experience in the research agency/ client side in Marketing, Insights, Data analytics
Strong analytical acumen and quantitative skills with a demonstrated ability to translate information and data into actionable insights story and strategic recommendations
Track record of growing talent in the matrix organization
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Leadership and influencing skills, ability to demonstrate confidence in communication with stakeholders at all levels and under high pressure
Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once delivering strong, detailed execution
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, matrix org, adapt to changes and effectively work and collaborate in cross-functional teams
Solid understanding of how data & analytics can be used to drive business impact in marketing comfort and good intuition around advanced analytics, with a good basic understanding of modelling techniques and advanced applied skills (e.g. Regression, A/B testing) – though no requirement to be able to build models or apply this skills.
High degree of functional proficiency with data visualisation, Power Point, and data analytics software
Ability to travel up to 10-20% of time to present to the senior stakeholders in internal Marketing and Media CoE teams
Strong Communicator; utilise communication, persuasion and negotiation skills to drive action across multiple levels, layers and geographies
Able to translate complex concepts into clear implications and stories for the business
Ability to navigate a complex cross-functional organisation
Embraces ambiguity as part of the development process
