Position: Senior Commercial Lawyer/Legal Director Navico is currently the worlds largest leisure marine electronics company and is the parent company to leading marine electronics brands: Lowrance, Simrad, B&G and C-Map. The Role: This is a newly created position for a Senior Commercial Lawyer in the Navico Legal Team to be based in Europe supporting the global Navico business. The successful candidate will have interaction and access to senior management and key stakeholders throughout the entire international operation. The Navico Legal Team operates across a wide range of legal disciplines and partners with all teams across the Navico group to assist on a range of matters covering commercial contracts, litigation, employment, IP, IT, M&A, property, data protection, compliance, risk and corporate governance. The Senior Commercial Lawyer will be expected to provide practical, decisive guidance to our Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Partnerships, Product and R&D teams, as well as other business colleagues, balancing business objectives and legal risk. With a commercial outlook and appetite to support a business through a period of significant growth, you will understand the bigger picture and can future-proof our strategy when it comes to contracting with customers and partners. Reporting to the General Counsel based in Europe, this role offers plenty of autonomy, career development and the opportunity to take ownership of key legal areas within the business. The Candidate: The successful candidate must have completed a minimum of five to eight years as a qualified lawyer, undertaking non-contentious commercial or corporate legal work in a multinational organisation (although applications from all levels will be considered on merit).
The ideal candidate will have experience working with large international clients with an ability to work autonomously and in a fast paced team environment, possessing excellent organisation and communication skills with the ability to advise a range of stakeholders at all levels (including Executive Management).
The candidate must be able to demonstrable experience explaining complex legal, regulatory and technical matters with an ability to use discretion and independent judgment to determine an appropriate action, whilst work concurrently on a variety of projects, effectively prioritising under challenging deadlines.
An excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures is also required, with experience in conducting negotiations, drafting contracts, preparing reports, analysing information and managing compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The candidate must have a can-do attitude and demonstrate a strong initiative in a rapidly growing, fast-paced team environment.
