Subcontract HSE Supervisor – (2001968)
Job Overview:

To promote site health and safety and ensure CCSJV and its Sub Contractors comply with their statutory responsibilities in the field of health and safety, to ensure all work carried out by CCSJV and its Sub Contractors does not create a hazard to the health or safety of anyone who might be affected or cause undue harm to the environment and to ensure compliance with the relevant Project HSE Policy, Procedures and Practices.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Be fully conversant with the Project HSE Policy, Plans and Procedures

Monitor the implementation of the Project, Construction HSE Plans at site

Interpret the requirements of the other HSE Plans, Procedures, Work Instructions etc. for the benefit of the Area Construction Managers and supervisors

Confirm with the HSE Manager (Operations) the potential severity of all Incidents, specifically Near Miss incidents

Act as a team member of all Incident Investigation committees

Participate in Site Audits / Inspections in conjunction with the Project Audit and Inspection Programme

Develop, assist and conduct on-site training for all levels of personnel ensuring a consistent approach to HSE Management and awareness, throughout all functional disciplines

Implement the behavioural safety and Near Miss and Safety Concern programmes

Conduct daily HSSE inspections of all worksite and storage areas associated with the site works programme

Assist as required in the Collation all Key Performance Indicator data and transmit on a weekly basis

Maintain a daily log of all notable activities and all HSSE concerns

To investigate daily with the site medical officer, minor, first aid cases and occupational illnesses, reporting results to the Construction Manager and HSE Manager (Operations)

Attend toolbox talks on a regular basis (daily at various locations) and ensure that they are being conducted in a professional and capable manner

Carry out regular monitoring in the application of the CCSJV PTW system

Review Contractor Plans, Procedures, Work Instructions, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, including JSA’s

To participate in daily construction meetings and liaise with the Site Engineering and Construction Supervision to ensure that they are kept informed of all site related activities

Set a personal example to all personnel and actively promote safety on the project, during travel to site and during day to day activities

Shall actively participate in Project reviews, training and site audits carried out by Project HSE Manager

Promote HSE awareness to the levels necessary in order to achieve a World Class health & safety performance at the site

Promote CCSJV’s Environmental Policies, plans and procedures
Basic Qualifications:

5 years experience in major engineering construction projects

Associate Membership of HSE related institution,

NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma or BSc Certificate or equivalent

Basic computer experience to Intermediate level

Good Working knowledge of Microsoft packages as a minimum

Good English language reading, writing and speaking

Individual must be self motivated

Understand the importance of timely completion of task

Local or expatriate acceptable if criteria are met
